Description
Toor dal is a perennial legume that belongs to the Fabaceae family, which is also known as pigeon pea or split pigeon pea, red gram dal. Grown in completely non polluted and chemical free environment on the higher slopes of the valleys up to an altitude of 1600 meters, Pahari Toor Dal is a powerhouse of nutrition’s and taste. Its different from its other variety Desi Toor, which is cultivated in the plains. Pahadi Toor daal are rich in carbohydrate, iron, phosphorous, manganese and Vitamin C, B1, and B9. In Ayurveda this grain was used to stop bleeding and for healing sores. Being very low in calories it can also form a part of any nutritious weight loss diet.
